Our History

Instrumentos Musicales D.U.R.C. starts in (09/19/1919) the September 19, 1919 like: “Casa Musical Canales ” established by Mr. Don Rodolfo Canales Flores, being located in Av. Madero # 52-B, in center of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

To 1927, the business changed its facilities to the corner of Dr Coss and Treviño of the same city, in front of "Plaza del Chorro". In 1930 born the concept of D.U.R.C. “Distribuidora Universal Rodolfo Canales ”.

During the decade of the 40 ' s, D.U.R.C., enters in the national and international market, like one active sign , reliable, serious and professional, in the musical market.

In the decade of the 50 ' s, the acoustic piano, is selected like the instrument preferred by the families for the musical education. Taking advantage of this “boom”, D.U.R.C House consolidates its international relations, as much in pianos as in the rest of the musical instruments, representing all the prestige marks of world-wide level.

Because of the musical revolution in the 60 ' s and 70 ' s, the youthful restlessness it was pronounced, acquiring drums, amplifiers, electrical guitars, everything what could form a rock group; D.U.R.C Integrates to this restlessness, being pioneering in the musical branch.

With vanguardists facilities, in 1977, Don Romeo Canales Elizondo, present main principal, locates to the prestigious Casa Musical D.U.R.C.., in to the present location.

In this one last year, 1977, starts ACADEMIA MUSICAL D.U.R.C., synonymous of musical culture, in where great personalities have projected, that actually appears in the musical scope of our society (Exteachers and students).

This concept of musical instruments, ,accessories , and musical class's gas not lost its human warm, because since it was born to current date, has been developed like a familiar business. In 1995, it takes the name from INSTRUMENTOS MUSICALES D.U.R.C., entering it's 3rd. Generation, represented by the Lic. Romeo Canales Garza, grandson of its founder. D.U.R.C. Musical Instruments, offers 15 musical departments, at the present time, developed and organized professionally, at as rookies, amateurs and concertists, they can acquire an innumerable number of musical instruments and articles, all of them of the highest technology and first level.
